A tall and robust British native plant with clusters of lovely yellow flowers, Lysimachia vulgaris is found in the wild in wet places such as marshes, river banks, wet woodland, ponds, lakes and ditches. It has simple lanceolate leaves and spreads by long thin runners. Although naturally quite a tall plant, pruning it in spring before it flowers can bring it down to a much shorter height if desired. It should not be confused with Lysimachia punctata, the garden yellow loosestrife, which is a non-native species usually grown in drier soils.
We recommend starting your Lysimachia vulgaris off in a pot of 1 litre capacity. Read more on how to pot and care for your plant here.
