A lovely spring plant, Water Dropwort is usually up by March and is excellent for brightening up the pond with its colour early in the year. It is grown mostly for its very attractive variegated feathery foliage (green, white and pink), although it also has clusters of small white flowers. It is unlike most pond plants in that it actually looks better in the cold weather - the pink is a striking deep rose colour in spring, fades to a soft sugar pink as the weather becomes warm, and back to deep rose again as the first cold nights come in. Trim the foliage back as necessary to keep the plant compact and fresh.
We recommend starting your Oenanthe javanica 'Flamingo' off in a pot of 1 litre capacity. Read more on how to pot and care for your plant here.
