This lovely British native plant produces velvety wine-red flowers with five petals in summer, which are attractive to bees and hoverflies (it is on the RHS 'Perfect For Pollinators' list). It has green, deeply-divided leaves on elongated reddish stems that grow outwards almost horizontally, which give it its common name of 'Bog Strawberry'. Unlike a real strawberry though, Potentilla palustris is a very slow-growing plant. Also known as Comarum palustre.
We recommend starting your Potentilla palustris off in a pot of 1 litre capacity. Read more on how to pot and care for your plant here.
