This little gem of a native species has delicate pale violet-blue flowers with purple veins in spring, followed by clusters of small green reniform leaves. A wild relative of the pansy, it is found in wet woodlands or meadows, marshes and stream margins. It is low-growing and spreads slowly to give useful ground cover.
