This little gem of a native species has delicate pale violet-blue flowers with purple veins in late spring, and clusters of small green reniform leaves. A wild relative of the pansy, it is found in wet woodlands or meadows, marshes and stream margins. It is low-growing and spreads slowly to give useful ground cover.

If designing a planting scheme, we recommend approximately 10 - 12 Viola palustris plants per square foot of ground, or 4 plants per linear foot of pond edge. Read more here on how to pot and care for your marsh plant.
