This iris is a variegated form of the British native species, with gorgeous creamy-yellow and green striped leaves in spring. The variegation slowly fades back to green as the typical yellow iris flowers appear in early summer. As you would expect from a variegated plant, it is slightly less vigorous than the wild form, which is useful in the garden as the wild Flag Iris is too vigorous for most people.
If designing a planting scheme, we recommend approximately 1 Iris pseudacorus 'Variegata' plant per square foot of ground or per linear foot of pond edge. Read more here on how to pot and care for your plant.
