A gorgeous little native plant with low-growing, finely-lobed green leaves and nodding flowers that start off orange-red and mature to a lovely peach. It is clump-forming and easy to grow. It is also good for attracting bees - here at the nursery it especially attracts the smaller bumblebees. Dead head occasionally to keep the maximum number of new blooms coming and extend the flowering season.
Geum rivale is on the RHS’ Plants for Pollinators list.
If designing a planting scheme, we recommend approximately 4 Geum rivale plants per square foot of ground, or 2 - 3 plants per linear foot of pond edge. Read more here on how to pot and care for your marsh plant.
