This attractive little rush has slender green foliage reminiscent of a miniature iris. In summer, it produces brown, globular seed heads, which have been compared to tiny hedgehogs - hence its name! Very easy to grow, its compact size makes it one of the few rushes in proportion for smaller ponds.
If designing a planting scheme, we recommend approximately 4 Juncus ensifolius plants per square foot of ground, or 2 plants per linear foot of pond edge. Read more here on how to pot and care for your plant.
