This is a stunning giant variety of the arum lily, with very large glossy speckled leaves and huge white blooms. In a sheltered position in a pond or moist soil, it will comfortably reach six feet high. It is clump-forming and never runs, so is not invasive. A mature 'White Giant' is a remarkable sight.
We obtained this exotic plant from its original US breeder many years ago, when it was almost unknown in the UK. All our plants are grown from division (never from seed), so the variety remains true to the original breeder. It is slightly frost-tender so the crown of the plant should remain below the water during winter to protect it from ice damage - i.e. make sure there is always two or three inches of water over the top of the pot in the winter months.
Please note that this plant is poisonous if eaten.
If designing a planting scheme, we recommend approximately 1 Zantedeschia 'White Giant' plant per 2 - 3 square feet of ground or per 2 - 3 linear feet of pond edge. Read more here on how to pot and care for your plant.
